475 – Sable With Jam / سابلي بالمربى
Plain Sable Cookie Dough
Apricot or strawberry jam
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon orange blossom water (or just water)
Follow the instructions in the Plain Sable Cookies recipe until step 11.
1- Shape the dough using a marguerite flower cookie cutter. Half of the cookies should be a solid marguerite shape and the other half should have a hole in the center.
2- Place the cookies in a baking pan covered with parchment paper. Mix the egg and orange blossom water together and use it to brush the cookies with the hole so they get a nice golden color.
3- Bake for about 15 minutes until golden. Let the cookies cool down completely before moving to the next step.
4- Spread a bit of jam over of the cookies with a solid surface.
5- Sift powdered sugar on the top of the cookies with a hole. This is an optional step, you can just keep them as is with their beautiful golden color.
6- Combine the two cookies with the hole being on top.
