Ingredients :

150 grams lentils
150 grams basmati rice
2 onions, peeled and finely chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
300 milliliters water

Directions :

1- In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil. Add the onions and cook them until golden and crispy. add a pinch of salt and mix.

2- Remove the excess oil from the pan and reserve the onions on a plate.
3- Fill a pan with cold water and place on high heat. Add the lentils, bring the water to a boil and cook for 15 minutes. Drain the lentils and reserve them.
4- Wash the basmati rice in a colander and drain it.
5- In a frying pan over medium heat, heat the olive oil and spice in it, then add the rice. Mix well so that the rice is well coated with spices.

6- Add the water and salt. Cover the pan and cook for 8 minutes. Turn off the heat, let cool slightly and stir the grains with a fork so that they do not stick between them.
7- Add the lentils and half of the onions to the rice in the pan, then mix well. Serve hot on a plate and top with the remaining onions on top.
