Briwat with Goat Cheese

Ingredients

  • Spring roll pastry (or Pastilla pastry if you can find it)
  • 9 Oz of creamy goat cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • (Optional for spicy Briwat) Hot chili pepper to taste
  • (Optional for spicy Briwat) 1/4 cup of chopped parsley
  • (Optional for sweet Briwat) Honey

Directions

  1. Steps for making the filling:
    1- Mix the goat cheese with the egg yolk and the pepper
    2- For spicy Briwat: if you are making spicy Briwat add the parsley and the hot chili pepper to the goat cheese mixture. 

  2. Steps for rolling the Briwat:
    Put the equivalent of a tablespoon of goat mixture in the Spring roll pastry and roll the Briwat as shown in the video.

  3. Fry the Briwat in very hot oil.

  4. The spicy Briwat are served immediately. The sweet Briwat are dipped in honey before serving.

    thank you so much for your delicious recipes and all your efforts. You are indeed a cordon bleu comme on dit en francais. I am moroccan too but moroccan cuisine is different from one region to another. I liked the rbati cuisine you make.

    You can find a better dough called feuille de Brik ..it is very similar to warqa...good site ...keep it up

    is it possible to make it with a nother kind of cheese like ( La vache qui rit ) ? or do u really need to use goat cheese? Baarak Allaahu fiki. xxx

    Do you use pepper for the sweet briewat also?

      Hi,yes you do use peper for both of them .
      For the sweet one and the chillione . ;)
