Moroccan Chicken Drumsticks
Ingredients
- 5 chicken drumsticks
- 1 onion - chopped
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon of crushed garlic
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1 egg
- Bread crumbs
- Oil for frying
Directions
Add the cooking oil, onion, chicken, garlic, and spices in your cooking pan. Cover the cooking pan and let all the ingredients cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
After 5 minutes, add 1 cup of water to the chicken. Cover your pan and let the drumsticks cook for 30 minutes. Stir from time to time.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the sauce. Keep the sauce as we are going to present it with the chicken at the end.
Heat the frying oil in a flat pan.
Beat the egg. Dip the chicken drumsticks in the egg, then coat them with bread crumbs.
Fry the chicken drumsticks on every side until golden brown. Use paper towel to remove excess oil when done.
Serving:
Serve the chicken drumsticks immediatly with the onion sauce in the side. Enjoy!

Beautiful chicken - cold or hot - intensifies the flavour, but the seasoning is still subtle.
This chicken is one of the best!!!! You cannot beat the flavor. All the spices are bringing this chicken to the perfection!. One recipe that will definitely stay on our menu for a long time.
Thank you Alia.
i am making this today.. let you know how it was..
Can you cook it first and then put it away for later? And then cook it with the eggs and bread crumbs later?
yes! fry them right before serving.
Would it be ok to just skip the frying step? Is the flavor still good?
it will be ok, but not as good as the fried chicken!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe. It was soooo good that my husband couldn't have enough. I went ahead and blogged the experience and the recipe. The chicken was so juicy and the flavoure is just wonderful. Blog: http://allarrowsleadtoelle.blogspot.com/2011/08/all-way-from-morocco-moroccan-chicken.html
