017 – Orange Walnut Cake
1 1/4 cup of flour
3/4 cup of sugar
1 stick of butter (8 Tbsp)
1/2 teaspoon of orange extract (optional)
1/2 cup of walnuts
2 tablespoons of honey
1 teaspoon of baking powder
Pinch of salt
Preheat the oven at 350 degrees.
Coarsely chop the walnuts.
Get the zest of the orange by grating the orange peel. Then, squeeze the orange to get the orange juice.
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and pinch of salt.
Beat the 3 eggs and add the orange zest, orange juice, orange extract, honey, the melted butter and the nuts.
Slowly incorporate the flour mixture into the egg mixture.
Pour the batter into a cake pan and bake it fro 40-50 minutes at 350 degrees.
To know if the cake is done: when you insert a knife in the middle of the cake it should come out clean.
