Ingredients :

  • Warka or Phyllo dough
  • Filling (shrimp filling, vegetarian, or any cooked filling of your choice!)
  • Melted butter
  • Egg yolk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

 

Directions :

Step 1: Rolling the Briwat
1- Watch the video to see how to roll the briwat into cigars, briwat (triangular shape) or bastilla (round shape)

Step 2: Cooking the Briwat
1- you can either fry the briwat. Heat the vegetable oil in a flat pan. Once hot, start frying the briwat from all sides until they become deep golden brown.
2- Once done, remove the briwat from the oil and place them in a plate covered with paper towel to absorb all excess oil.
3- If you want to bake the briwat, brush them with melted butter and bake them in a preheated oven (400 F / 200 C) until they become deep golden brown. Serve hot!
