011 – Sellou

Ingredients :
2 1/4 cup of flour (250 gr)
2 cups of almonds (250 gr)
1 cup of sesame seeds (125 gr)
1/2 cup of honey (150 gr)
1 full cup of powdered sugar (125 gr)
1 stick of butter (8 tbsp)
1 tsp of anis seeds
1/2 tbsp of cinammon
Pinch of salt
Directions :
Preheat the oven at 350 degrees, and bake the flour in a pan for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
In a non-stick pan, roast the almonds, the sesame seeds and the anis seeds for 15-20 minutes on low heat. Stir constantly to avoid burning the nuts.
Take 2/3 of the nuts mixture and finely grind it in a food processor. Mix in the powdered sugar, cinnamon and salt.
Coarsely grind the rest of the nuts mixture.
In a large bowl, combine the two nuts mixture.
Sift the flour and add it to the nuts mixture.
Add in the melted butter and the honey.
Thoroughly mix all the ingredients.
Presentation:
1- Create a dome shape with the Sellou, swift powdered sugar over it and decorate with almonds.
