Ingredients

For the veggie patties:
125 g lentils
1/4 onion, chopped
1 garlic
1 carrot
1 small cheese
2 tbsp soja sauce
Olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Breadcrumbs
Cilantro, chopped

For the buns:
1 tomato, sliced
1 cheese slice
5 lettuce leaves
ketchup
Mayonnaise

Directions

Cook the veggie patties:
1- In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the lentils to a boil until they become tender.
2- In a sauce pan over medium heat, put the olive oil and add onion and cook for 3 minutes, stirring with a spatula.
3- Add the garlic, carrots, salt and pepper and continue cooking for 10 minutes.
4- Remove from heat and let cool and put in a food processor
5- Add cheese, soy sauce and cilantro and mix until you get a smooth mixture.
6- Divide and shape the mixture into 5 patties 8.5 cm in diameter and 2 cm thick. Cover both sides with the bread crumbs.
7- In a sauce pan, put the olive oil and fry the patties until they are browned and well cooked, turning them halfway.

For the buns:
1- Spread mayonnaise and ketchup on bun bottoms.
2-Add lettuce, cheese, veggie pattie and tomato slice. Cover with the top bun.
3- Serve immediately.
