easy
Ingredients :
- 4 generously filled kitchen tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (if using U.S. tablespoons it would be around 8)
- 1 can (395 grams) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon salted butter (or regular butter + pinch of salt)
- Chocolate confettis for rolling (also you can use chopped nuts, etc.
Directions :
Step 1 – Making the Brigadeiro Mixture:
1- Place the cocoa powder in a sauce pan.
2- Add the sweetened condensed milk to the cocoa powder little by litte. Mix well with a spatula before adding the rest of the condensed milk.
3- Add the salted butter (or regular butter + a pinch of salt) to the chocolate mixture. the butter has to be soften at room temperature. Mix well.
4- Cook the chocolate mixture on medium heat for 10-15 minutes while stirring constantly. You will notice that the mixture will thicken as it cooks. the more you cook it the more chewy the brigadeiro will be. So adjust the cooking time to the consistency of your choice.
5- Remove the brigadeiro mixture from the heat, place in a plate (previously brushed with butter) and let it cool down.
Step 2 – Making Brigadeiro Balls:
1- Once the brigadeiro mixture cools down, roll it into balls (the size of a small walnut). Spread some butter on your hands when rolling the balls so the chocolate does not stick to your hands.
2- Roll the balls in chocolate confettis, coconut powder, chopped nuts, or anything you want.
3- Place in small paper cups and serve!
Bon Appetit!
