032 – Moroccan Briwat with Goat Cheese
Spring roll pastry (or Pastilla pastry if you can find it)
9 Oz of creamy goat cheese
1 egg yolk
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
Oil for frying
(Optional for spicy Briwat) Hot chili pepper to taste
(Optional for spicy Briwat) 1/4 cup of chopped parsley
(Optional for sweet Briwat) Honey
Steps for making the filling:
1- Mix the goat cheese with the egg yolk and the pepper
2- For spicy Briwat: if you are making spicy Briwat add the parsley and the hot chili pepper to the goat cheese mixture.
Steps for rolling the Briwat:
Put the equivalent of a tablespoon of goat mixture in the Spring roll pastry and roll the Briwat as shown in the video.
Fry the Briwat in very hot oil.
The spicy Briwat are served immediately. The sweet Briwat are dipped in honey before serving.
