893- Strawberry Chia Jam / مربى الفراولة والشيا
1 medium pot
200 grams (7 oz) fresh or frozen strawberries, cut into slices
2 tablespoons chia seeds
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
1- Place the strawberries in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 10 minutes while occasionally stirring, until the strawberries break down and soften.
2- Mash the strawberries using a spatula or a potato masher until you get the desired consistency.
3- Stir in the chia seeds and lemon zest.
4- Add the maple syrup if desired, stir to combine, then remove from the heat.
5- Allow the jam to cool for 10 minutes to thicken.
6- Give the strawberry chia jam a good stir and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
