529- Khlii and Eggs Square Pockets / مربعات البيض بالخليع
4 servings of Kiri cheese
150 g of khlii, cut into slices
1 tablespoon of khlii fat
250 g of warka
1 egg yolk
Step 1: Preparing the filling
1- In a frying pan over medium heat, melt the khlii fat, add the khlii slices and cook for 1 minute while stirring.
2- Add the eggs and let cook uncovered, while stirring. Once the mixture is ready, remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool.
3- Cut each portion of Kiri cheese into 4 strips.
Step 2: Shaping the square pockets
1- Cut the warka into disks, place a little bit of the filling in the center then 2 strips of Kiri cheese and a pinch of chopped parsley on top.
2- Form the square pockets and brush their edges with egg yolk to secure them.
3- Fry in a hot oil bath until the square pockets are golden and then pat them with a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Serve immediately, while the square pockets are still warm and crispy!
