644- French Onion Soup / حساء البصل الفرنسي
3 Kiri cheese portions
4 large onions, cut into strips
45 grams (1.6 oz) butter
15 grams (2 tablespoons) flour
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon pepper, taste
1 liter (4 cups) water
1– In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, add the onions and salt and mix. Cover the pan and cook for 40 minutes while stirring regularly until the onions are caramelized.
2- Add the Kiri cheese portions and mix until they are melted.
3- Add the flour, mix and cook while stirring for 1 minute.
4- Pour the water into the saucepan and add the bay leaves and pepper.
5- Increase the heat to medium heat, bring the water to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
6- Remove the bay leaves and serve hot, with toast bread.
