Ingredients :
For the caramelized onions:
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon light brown sugar
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the meat:
150 grams (5.2 oz) skirt steak, cut into medium strips
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon ras el hanout
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
For assembling:
4 whole wheat burger buns
Lettuce
2 medium radishes, grated
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions :
Step 1: Preparing the caramelized onions
1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onions, balsamic vinegar, parsley, dried basil, salt, and pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
2. Add the light brown sugar and continue cooking for 10 minutes until the onions are caramelized. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside.
Step 2: Preparing the meat
3- Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the meat, ras el hanout, dried oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes while stirring until the meat is cooked through. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside.
Step 3: Assembling the sandwich
4. In a small bowl, add the grated radish, lemon juice, sal,; and pepper. Mix and set aside.
5. Cut the burger buns into two. Add lettuce, a tablespoon of the radish mixture, then top with the spiced meat strips. Cover with the top bun and serve.
