613- Chocolate and Apricot Braided Brioche / بريوش بالشوكولاطة والمشمش

Ingredients

45g (1.8 oz) Carrefour DEMI-SEL Butter
Carrefour Chocolate Spread
Carrefour Apricot Jam
120 ml (1/2 cup)  milk, lukewarm
1 teaspoon dry yeast
50g (1/4 cup) of granulated sugar
1 egg
300g (2 cups) of flour
1 egg, for the egg wash

Directions

1- In a large bowl, mix the milk and the yeast and set aside for 5 minutes.
2- Add the sugar and the egg and whip together.
3- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt, make a hole in the center and pour in the milk mixture. Mix until combined.
4- Add the butter and knead the dough for 10 minutes until it become firm and elastic.
5- Cover with a cloth and let it rise for 1 hour, until the dough doubles in volume.
6- Flour the work surface, and using a roll pin, spread the dough in a rectangle of 25x40cm.
7- On one half of the dough, spread the chocolate cream; on the other half, spread orange marmalade. Take one of the width sides of the rectangular shape and roll the dough it like a carpet.
8- Cut the dough lengthwise and twist the two sausage shaped dough.
9- Butter a cake mold, place the dough in it and let it rise for about 1 hour until it doubles in volume.
10- Brush with the egg wash to get a beautiful golden color on your brioche. Bake at 180°C / 350°F for about 30 minutes, until golden brown.
